At least six people were killed and many wounded when a suicide bomber blew up self in Konduga, Borno State, on Tuesday, a local source has told SaharaReporters.
The incident occurred at about 01:25pm in Konduga town at the military checkpoint for screening human traffic.
Among the casualties were five civilians, including the head of the Civiliant Joint Task Force (CJTF) in the town, and two of his colleagues. A dozen others were injured.
“It was sad news for us today; the Chairman of vigilante in Konduga and two members were killed by an agent of Satan,” he said. “Tsoho, as popularly called by soldiers, has helped in fight against Boko haram. It was great loss to us.”
A rescue worker told SahaRareporters that an emergency team was underway to evacuate the wounded civilians.
