The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU, Ile-Ife, has announced the sacking of Richard Akindele, the Professor of Management and Accounting at the university who was the subject of a sex-for marks scandal.
Akindele was initially suspended after the university probed an audio showing that he demanded five sessions of sex from a student, Monica Osagie, to upgrade her mark.
Announcing the sacking on Wednesday at a press conference in Ile-Ife, Eyitope Ogunbodede, Vice Chancellor of OAU, said the Governing Council of the institution found Akindele “guilty of all the charges against him”.
