ELECTION NEWS: Police Embark On Show Of Force In Osun

The Nigeria Police Force is set to embark on a show of force as part of its activities before the governorship election scheduled for September 22, 2018.

The policemen will also visit some flash points in the state.

In a tweet via the official handle of the Nigeria Police Force, @PoliceNG, the force tweeted pictures of the DIG Joshak Habila, supervising Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Osun governorship election, addressing officers before the exercise began.

The tweet read: "Happening now in Osun State, DIG Joshak Habila, supervising Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Osun Gov Election, addressing officers and men of all security and safety agencies before embarking on Show of Force Exercise and visit to flash points in the state."


The Police had earlier announced that two police Patrol Surveillance Helicopters, 30 Armoured Personnel Carriers, 10 Armoured Personnel Vehicles and 300 Police patrol vehicles had already deployed to cover the state, including difficult terrains.

The election is scheduled to hold in a few days, with 48 aspirants vying for the governorship seat of the state.
